Shampoo Bar from the Eco Collection

People are switching to shampoo bars because they are natural, environmentally friendly , cost effective and convenient. Shampoo bars replace plastic bottles, can be used while traveling, on hiking trips or at the gym. They last long too.

** The bar can also be used as a gentle soap for your face and body. **

WHAT'S SO SPECIAL ABOUT THIS BAR? It's a rich oil infusion of herbs combined for a beautifully balanced shampoo bar. It is specifically formulated with natural plant oils, butters, herbs and essential oils that will nourish your hair and scalp.

This shampoo bar is solid and can replace liquid shampoo and conditioners. The coconut and castor oils make a rich lather. The herbs clean and condition the hair and scalp.

COMMERCIAL SHAMPOOS VS NATURAL SOAP BARS

Commercial shampoo & conditioners may contain waxes, silicone's or other additives that coat your hair to make it feel smooth. Natural shampoo bars do not strip the hair like detergent based shampoos, so your hair will feel differently after washing. This is because it is accustomed to the “squeaky clean” feel of detergent based shampoo. Switching from a commercial shampoo to a natural shampoo bar often means an adjustment period of a few days to a month, due to changing from a chemical shampoo to a natural hair care system. Your reward will be healthier hair. Conditioners will no longer be necessary as your hair adjusts to it.

These bars contain no artificial fragrance, color, preservatives, detergents, alcohol, urea, formaldehyde, sodium lauryl sulfate, DEA, propylene glycol, ammonium lauryl sulfate, or any of the other synthetic hair care additives.

* They are sulfate, silicone and paraben free. *

WHATS IN YOUR BAR?

The base oils include saponified Olive, Coconut, Castor, Wheat Germ & Apricot Kernel Oils.

The aroma is Lemongrass and Lavender Essential Oils.

The infusions and colors are Yucca, Beer, Soapwort, Nettle, Marshmallow Root, and Comfrey.

  • Yucca: Stimulates the scalps

  • Marshmallow Root: Soft shiny hair

  • Beer: Adds volume

  • Soapwort: Gentle refreshing cleanser

  • Nettles: Encourageens and detangles

  • Comfrey: Softens and detangles

HOW DO YOU USE YOUR BAR?

To use, wet your hair thoroughly and create a lather in your hands. Massage into the scalp and hair. Add more water or soap as needed. Be sure to rinse thoroughly. Repeat if necessary.

Herbal-Infused Hair Rinses are good to remove built up residues. If your hair has residue from previous products (like conditioners, styling gels, etc…), an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse will help remove this build-up, soften and help detangle your hair.

You can use Apple Cider Vinegar without herbs, create your own herbal blend or use the blend that came with your GoodEarth soap.

Use 1 teaspoon of herbs and add to 1 cup of boiling water. Let steep until cool. Strain, then add 1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar. This is your rinse for all hair colors & hair types. * If you have long hair you may want to double this recipe. *

GoodEarth Herbal Hair Blend:

  • Nettle leaf: Encourages shiny hair

  • Comfrey: Softens and detangles

  • Basil: Facilitates healthy hair growth

  • Optional: 1 - 2 drops of essential oils like Lavender or Patchouli for a beautiful fragrance

Apply the vinegar hair rinse to freshly washed damp hair and scalp. Thoroughly massage it in. Leave it in for 3 – 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

As your hair adjusts you can use Apple Cider Vinegar Rinses for maintenance every 3 - 4 months.

* Keep the rinse out of your eyes, since vinegar will sting. *
